Corporate work

I have worked on reports and articles on a range of subjects, from honorary graduate articles and award speeches to impact reports – researching, writing, producing and editing documents.

Long copy projects are very different writing propositions to shorter, snappier pieces. They often require the distillation of quite detailed facts and figures, and occasionally research.

I’ve also produced numerous standards guidelines and media packs for various organisations.

Corporate articles

I’ve written standalone pieces for corporate magazines and reports, eg for the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine graduate brochures, based on desk research and in depth interviews.

Need a media pack? Maybe complementary webpages, social media and imagery? I can help with all of those things having produced similar materials for companies/ projects including The Printroom UK, ReBUILD for Resilience and St Paul’s Eye Unit.

Reports & annual reviews

I’ve produced, written and edited numerous reports and reviews for many clients, ranging from Conservation Management Plans and architectural guides for Port Sunlight Village Trust, to Impact Assessment Reports for British Red Cross, and Economic & Social Impact Reports for National Museums Liverpool.

Guidelines and standards

Adhering to standards is one thing – setting them is another. I have written, reviewed and updated policies and guidelines covering a range of company-wide issues including terminology, corporate writing style & copyright guidelines, particularly for National Museums Liverpool but also for SMEs including The Printroom UK.

Karen immediately had a clear understanding of what we needed, and after initially planning and writing a great website and brochure has since produced press releases, e-newsletters and leaflets for us. She has also contributed to a successful tender process with a major client. She’s really easy to work with.

Karen completed a comprehensive beneficiary consultation for the Liverpool Asylum Outreach and Support Service [British Red Cross]. She was exceptionally professional in her approach and produced a high quality report which was used to report back to funders and inform the future project delivery. Karen is personable and works well with people from different backgrounds, adapting her communication style to suit the audience.
